CARIHUELA TORREMOLINOS PLUSCARHIRE CHURCH DEL CARMEN
La Carihuela in half a century, what was a very humble fishermen’s neighborhood has become one of the most charismatic and well-known places of tourism in Europe: La Carihuela, a beach strech, shops, restaurants, hotels and beach bars that each receives year to millions of people in search of leisure, sun and sea.
The fishermen in La Carihuela lived in very humble houses and shacks where there were no amenities, much less. Many of those men, restless and enterprising, decided to fight against their fate and the hand of the birth of the Costa del Sol (year 1963) as such denomination, the tremendous strength of the hotel Pez Espada (1959) and driven by the the irruption of tourism as a mass phenomenon, they began to create chambaos and picnic areas that gradually attracted locals and tourists.
