Beaches of Benalmádena – La Viborilla Beach
Viborilla Beach is a complete surprise. Hidden among numerous palm trees and a small forest, this is by far the most beautiful beach on the Benalmádena coast.
The small dimensions of the beach make it seem quite small, but give it a much greater charm. It is 100 meters long and about 10-15 meters wide, depending on the exact place where you decide to lie down. Therefore, if you love to relax taking long walks on the sand, we advise you to go to the Playa de Santa Ana. On the other hand, the Playa de la Viborilla is a perfect destination for those who love underwater life, so do not forget the diving equipment and snorkel goggles, because you will love discovering its underwater beauty.
The beach is surrounded and protected by cliffs, which will make you feel as if you are on a paradise island in the Caribbean. The only thing that reminds us of Andalusian nature are the gravel stones of the area. Furthermore, thanks to its lush vegetation, the beach is practically invisible from the road.
The tranquility of the sea makes it one of the favorite beaches for families with children who spend their holidays in Benalmádena and are looking for a place of peace and calm.
Right next to the beach, hidden and dotted between the cliffs, you can find small coves, completely inaccessible by
Like all the beaches in Benalmádena, La Viborilla offers a large number of services: showers and public toilets and rental of sun loungers and parasols. Also, the beach is cleaned regularly.
Among the palm trees is the only restaurant on the beach, the Restaurante La Viborilla. From it, you can enjoy stunning views of the sea and sunsets. Following the local tradition, the restaurant specializes in fish and paella. Due to its location, prices are slightly more expensive than in other restaurants in the area. You can try the smoked sardines for € 6 and the paella for € 12.5. If you are really hungry you can always opt for the menu of the day, which includes lettuce salad, tomato, onion, meat steak with chips, bread, a drink and a coffee. Payment by credit card from € 6 is accepted. If you have children and want to entertain them, simply send them to the main room of the restaurant. Without a doubt, you will be fascinated by the huge number of clay pots hanging on the ceiling.
When you are on vacation in Benalmádena, you can always prepare your own food and bring it with you to the beach to enjoy a good picnic.
How to get here?
Because access to the beach is made up of fairly steep steps, this beach is not recommended for those with reduced mobility.
You can get to the beach by bus (M120 Benalmádena-Fuengirola route), or by car. Parking is never a problem, since the beach has a large parking lot. If you come from Torremolinos / Malaga, take the old coastal road, the MA – 21, which becomes Av. Antonio Machado when entering Benalmádena. Follow the signs to Fuengirola, passing several roundabouts. Just after the Torrequebrada Casino (on the left), you will see a sign for “Nueva Torrequebrada” and a roundabout, turn left to park. The beach is at your feet.
